If you are a resident of certain jurisdictions within the United States (“U.S.”), the European Union (“EU”), European Economic Area (“EEA”) or the United Kingdom(“UK”), you may be entitled to certain individual rights under various privacy laws, including, but not limited to, the California Consumer Privacy Act of 2018 [as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act of 2020 (“CPRA”)] (collectively, “CCPA”), or the General Data Protection Regulation (“GDPR”), and the UK Data Protection Act 2018 respectively. Information We Collect
We collect a variety of information from or about you or your devices from various sources, as described below.
If you do not provide your information when requested, you may not be able to use our Services if that information is necessary to provide our Services or if we are legally required to collect it.
A. Information You Provide to Us.
Registration Information. If you register to use our Services, we ask you for your name, email address, and phone number.
Communications. If you contact us directly, we may receive information about you. For example, when you fill out our “Contact Us” form, we will receive your first and last name, work email address, company, selected industry, phone number, address, and the content of your message.
Careers. If you decide that you wish to apply for a job with us, you may submit your contact information and your resume online. We will collect the information you choose to provide on your resume, such as your education and employment experience. You may also apply through LinkedIn. If you do so, we will collect the information you make available to us on LinkedIn.
Information at our Waste and Recycling Facilities. We provide a number of artificial intelligence based tools for waste and recycling facilities and the broader waste and recycling industry. A core part of this technology is its ability to learn how to better distinguish material as it is exposed to additional waste and recyclable material. In the course of improving itself, the technology will view the contents of waste and recycling bins, which may contain material discarded by residents and businesses that contain personal information. We may use recordings of this material in aggregated and deidentified form in order to improve our technology.
B. Information We Collect When You Use Our Services.
Device Information. We receive information about the device and software you use to access our Services, including internet protocol (“IP”) address, web browser type, operating system version, and unique device identifiers.
Usage Information. To help us understand how you use our Services and to help us improve them, when you use our Services, we automatically receive information about your interactions with our Services, like log files, performance logs, diagnostic reports, the pages or other content you view, the searches you conduct, pages you request, the websites you visited before using our Services, and the dates, times, and durations of your visits.
Location Information. When you use our Services, we infer the general physical location of your device and the geographic regions our Users come from. For example, your IP address may indicate your general geographic region.
Information from Cookies and Similar Technologies. We and third-party partners may collect information using cookies, pixel tags, or similar technologies. Our third-party partners, such as analytics partners, may use these technologies to collect information about your online activities over time and across different services. Cookies are small text files containing a string of alphanumeric characters. We may use both session cookies and persistent cookies. A session cookie disappears after you close your browser. A persistent cookie remains after you close your browser and may be used by your browser on subsequent visits to our Services.
Cookies can be used for performance management, collecting information on how our Services are being used for analytics purposes. They can also be used for functionality management, enabling us to make the User’s visit more efficient by, for example, remembering language preferences, passwords and log-in details. We may also use pixel tags and web beacons on our Services. These are tiny graphic images placed on web pages or in our emails that allow us to determine whether you have performed a specific action. Below is an overview of the types of cookies we and third parties may use to collect information.
- Strictly necessary cookies. Some cookies are strictly necessary to make our Services available to you. We cannot provide you with our Services without this type of cookie.
- Functional cookies. These are used to recognize you when you return to our Services. This enables us to adapt our content for you, and remember your preferences (for example, your choice of language or region).
- Analytical or Performance cookies. We also use cookies for website and app analytics purposes in order to operate, maintain, and improve our Services. We may use our own analytics cookies or use third-party analytics providers such as Google Analytics, LinkedIn, Pardot, and Squarespace to help provide us with information about traffic to our website and use of our Services, which Google may share with other services and websites who use the collected data to contextualize and personalize the ads of its own advertising network. You can view Google’s privacy practices here: privacy policy – privacy & terms – google.
Our use of online tracking technologies may be considered a “sale” or “sharing” under certain laws. To the extent that these online tracking technologies are deemed to be a “sale” or “sharing” under certain laws, you can opt out of these online tracking technologies by submitting a request via link here or by broadcasting an opt-out preference signal, such as the Global Privacy Control (“GPC”), on the browsers and/or browser extensions that support such a signal.
